Between school forms, check-ups and the occasional late-night fever, family health paperwork piles up fast. Here's a simple system that works whether you use an app, a folder, or both.
1. Give every person their own "home"
Create one place per family member — a profile, folder or tab. When something new arrives, there's never a question about where it goes.
2. Capture documents the day you get them
Photograph or scan prescriptions, lab reports and vaccination records as soon as you receive them. Name them consistently, for example 2026-10-24 Blood test – Mum.
3. Keep a short list of essentials for each person
- Allergies
- Current medicines and doses
- Blood group (if known)
- Main doctors and clinics
This is the information you'll be asked for most often — keep it where you can find it in seconds.
4. Record measurements with context
A blood pressure reading is more useful with a note: time of day, after exercise, which arm. Context helps your doctor interpret trends.
5. Review before every appointment
Ten minutes before a visit, review recent readings, list current medicines and write down your questions. You'll get more out of every appointment.
