Privacy Policy

Your family's health information is personal. Here's exactly how we handle it.

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Our promise: We never sell your personal health information. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't share it with third parties except the service providers needed to run FamilyHealth, as described below.

1. Who we are

FamilyHealth ("we", "us") operates the website and application at familyhealth.site. You can contact us about privacy at support@familyhealth.site.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Family and health information you add: family member profiles (name, relationship, date of birth, gender, blood group, allergies, notes, optional photo), health measurements, symptoms and notes, medicines and dose logs, appointments, and documents you upload.
  • AI requests: the type of request, a short excerpt of your question, and the generated response, so you can see your history.
  • Technical information: IP address and basic request data used for security (for example rate limiting and preventing abuse), plus essential cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

3. How we use your information

  • To provide the service: store, display, organize and chart the information you add.
  • To send service messages such as password resets and, if you enable them, reminders.
  • To generate AI summaries only when you request them.
  • To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

4. AI features

When you use the AI assistant, we send the minimum information needed for that request — for example the selected family member's first name, age, relevant records, or the document you chose — to our AI provider (Google's Gemini API) to generate a response. We do not send your email address or account credentials. AI features are optional; if you don't use them, no information is sent to the AI provider. AI responses are informational only and are not medical advice.

5. Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal or health information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate FamilyHealth (web hosting, email delivery, AI processing when you request it, and payment processing once paid plans are available), under obligations to protect it;
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect the safety of any person.

6. Security

We use hashed passwords, secure session cookies, CSRF protection, strict per-account access checks on every request, and private file storage for uploads that are never publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: download a copy of your data from Settings at any time.
  • Correction: edit any information directly in the app.
  • Deletion: delete individual records, family profiles, or your entire account from Settings. Account deletion permanently removes your data and uploaded files from our active systems.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example GDPR in the EU/UK). Contact us to exercise them.

8. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete data or your account, it is removed from our active database immediately; residual copies in routine backups are overwritten within our normal backup cycle.

9. Children

Accounts must be created by adults (18+). Parents and guardians may add profiles for children they care for; that information is controlled by the account holder.

10. Health-law notice

FamilyHealth is a personal organization tool used by individuals and families. Unless we state otherwise in a separate written agreement, we are not acting as a healthcare provider or on behalf of one.

11. Changes

We'll post updates on this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in the app.
